The Halal Animal Welfare Association carries out a range of programs and initiatives to raise animal welfare standards, including:

HAWA Welfare Assurance Program

The HAWA Welfare Assurance Program promotes high standards of animal welfare in agricultural operations, grounded in Islamic principles and aligned with industry best practices. Certified farms and trained Halal producers demonstrate ethical animal care through structured training, expert consultation, and compliance with HAWA standards. Participation enhances consumer trust and provides access to resources that support continuous improvement in animal welfare across the Halal supply chain.
